Literature Appreciation Quarter 2

I am reading the book  Ellie's Story by W. Bruce Cameron. Usually I do not read books because I am  not interested in them, but this book caught my eye and I find it very interesting. In this book you see through the eyes of a German Shepard and what being a police dog really means. However this is not  the Silly Puppy Adventures you may think this is, It is realistic and based off of real things a K-9 would do.Throughout the story Ellie works with Jakob who is an adult male police officer. Sadly they are not together the whole time in the book, Ellie gets a new owner but why would the perfect partners split up? Who does Ellie go to and is she still a police dog? Don't ask me ask the book by reading it! In this book there are about eight-teen chapters, the book is also A Dogs Purpose Novel. I am reading 11 Birthdays by Wendy Mass and this book is about a girl named Amanda. She shares her birthday with a boy named Leo every year, but not this year because of something mean Leo says at their previous party. Just when Amanda thought her birthday could get any worse, she finds out Leo is having a huge party with a football star and everyone in the grade is going expect for her. I have not yet finished this book, but so far Amanda has repeated her birthday five times and no one knows except her and Leo. Leo has also repeated his birthday five times and tells Amanda, but it does not mean a lot coming from her ex- best friend. Amanda tells him what is going on with her and they realize both of their birthdays are repeating, but they do not know why. Text to Self-Under The Lights      So far, what I have been reading is there is a new girl in the school (Willa), and she s having a hard time fit in because she has done so other bad stuff. She has been abandoned by everyone in her family except her Nonna (her grandma). She has found a couple of her other friends, but they don't remember/know her from the past, but by the end of the chapter they finally find out who she is and where she is from. Then, every boy that she meets, thinks that she is attractive in their own way. Then, the boy that is having trouble is getting attacked by all the girls he went to the party with and saying that he can't have a girlfriend, and all these crazy girls keep following him and fighting over him, but he finally get the gut to tell all the girls that he was drunk when he met all of them and don't like anyone of them and will never want to be seen with neither one of them ever again.      This situation reminds me of a ...

      The book I am reading  The truth game  by Anna Staniszewski and it is about how Rachel Lee starts ninth grade but gets obsessed with a game called the truth game. At first Rachel thinks the game is boring and has no meaning to it when her enemy, Briana installs it on her phone but that changes when the questions start relating to her. In the game, it asks questions and sends dares and if you answer them you get points. Rachel sees some of the dares and doesn't think she can do them but she does. Even though nobody knows who she is on the game, she is still cautious. In the end, the game has a glitch which causes it to show the identities of the players and what they answered and Rachel's friends find out the things that she said but they eventually forgive her.      This book relates to me because sometimes I can get distracted from things that matter.          I am reading The Girl Who Drank the Moon by Kelly Barnhill. It's about a baby who is left as a sacrifice for the witch. The babies village believed that the witch was evil and if a baby wasn't sacrificed then she would destroy the entire town, but it turns out the witch isn't evil and she thinks that the babies get abandoned by their parents. Every year, around the same time, the witch travels from her home (which she shares with a swamp monster named Glerk and a tiny dragon named Fyrian)  to the outside of the village and waits for the baby to arrive. She then takes the baby to another village across the forest. This time the witch accidentally feeds the baby moon light which contains magic, and the witch has to raise the baby herself.          This story reminds me of a time when I judged someone even when I new them. The book I am currently reading is Inkheart , by an author named, Cornelia Funke. It's about a young girl named Meggie who loves to read. Although, her father is hiding something dark from her. They constantly have to move from house to house trying to escape an evil man named Capricorn. Even though, Meggie doesn't know who Capricorn is, or that he even existed. Mo (dad), is trying to keep a book secret that Capricorn wants, it's called Inkheart. Capricorn will do anything for it, even kill. Meggie reminds me of somebody I knew at my old school, Justin (FAKE NAME), because he was a bigger bookworm than me, he would read during any class when he was not supposed to. Meggie reminds me of me because, she has a very close relationship with her father, and so do I. The situation Meggie is currently in reminds me of a similar situation in my own life.
