Literature Appreciation Quarter 2

I am reading  The Silmarillion .  What I have read so far is about the first age of Middle-Earth. The book takes place before The Hobbit and before The Lord of the Rings. It is about the very beginning of Middle-Earth about the Elves, Dwarfs,orcs, men, and the Valor. The Valor created 3 powerful jewels, where if you touch them even for a little bit your hand would be burned. But the Men, Melkor and the orcs figured out a way to get a hold of  it without out getting burned. Where I am at is when Sauron has gathered armies to take possession of the jewels.       The part that reminds me of me is when Yavanna ( The Valor of nature and fruit ) weeps when she goes through a burned down forest at the end of a large war. I relate to that part because not that I weep but I feel sad when a forest is burned down by a wildfire. I enjoy nature and love to eat fruit. I read about how, the main character, Jonas was getting nervous about the upcoming Ceremony of the Twelves, where he would be given his assignment/job. Before the ceremony, strange things happened to Jonas. He saw objects change in ways he could not understand or make sense of, that only he could see. Jonas also started having Stirrings. Text to Self Sample   I am reading the  book   Beautiful Creatures  by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl. This book is part 1 in a series of books about a small town boy who falls for the “new girl” in town. Only this isn’t any regular girl. She is a “castor” or a witch, she has special powers. When she moves into town they realize they have a strong connection. The problem is she is different from everyone else. When she turns 16 fate decides whether she will be a dark or evil castor or a light castor. The closer it gets to her 16th birthday the crazier both of their lives get.
