Text to Self- 11 Birthdays

I am reading 11 Birthdays by Wendy Mass and this book is about a girl named Amanda. She shares her birthday with a boy named Leo every year, but not this year because of something mean Leo says at their previous party. Just when Amanda thought her birthday could get any worse, she finds out Leo is having a huge party with a football star and everyone in the grade is going expect for her. I have not yet finished this book, but so far Amanda has repeated her birthday five times and no one knows except her and Leo. Leo has also repeated his birthday five times and tells Amanda, but it does not mean a lot coming from her ex- best friend. Amanda tells him what is going on with her and they realize both of their birthdays are repeating, but they do not know why. Amanda can not wait until the day after birthday, so she does not have to repeat one of her worst days ever. 

 Amanda's older sister reminds me of my little sister because Kylie has a lot of sass just like my little sister does. Amanda's sister also got Amanda in trouble when Amanda read her diary, just like my little sister gets me in trouble. Leo makes me think of me because he decorated Amanda's locker just like I do nice things for my friends. When Amanda took care of her dad when he was sick, just like I do when one of my parent's is sick it reminded me of me and a time my mom was sick.  Amanda reminds me of Auggie from the book Wonder because Auggie is different because he has many surgeries on his face so it does not look like many other's normal faces, just like Amanda is different because she is repeating her birthday and does not know how to stop it. Amanda can not change the fact that she does not now how to stop the birthdays and Auggie can not control how his face is presented. 

 I have always wondered why Amanda's dad was a little suspicious everyday when she was repeating her birthday. I began to think that Leo had been lying to Amanda about helping her find out why they both are repeating their birthdays, but he was just trying to help the both of them. I wish that Kylie was more nicer to Amanda because Amanda tries to help Kylie by giving her advice about the boy she wants to ask out and making sure her science project does not get switched with her mom's project. I highly recommend this book because I am enjoying this book and I can connect to 11 Birthdays many different ways.

    I think that you did a really good job on your blog. This makes me want to read the book. I think that that will be my next book.

Text to Text- The Girl Who Drank the Moon

         If you recall, I was reading The Girl Who Drank the Moon by Kelly Barnhill. Much has happened in the story since I last posted. The witch (Xan) calls the baby Luna and over the years Luna grows very powerful, but she doesn't know what she's doing. At about the age of five Xan has to put a spell on Luna to capture her magic and when Luna turns 13 her magic will come out. Unfortunately that means Xan will die. When it's close to Luna's birthday Xan leaves because she has to get the baby from the circle to take to the free cities. Luna goes out to look for her grandmother and ends up having an interesting adventure.          This book reminds me of the book Sleeping Beauty because both main characters has a spell cast on them. Luna's spell causes her to loose her magic until she turns 13 and Sleeping Beauty's spell cause her to sleep for a long time. Text to Self- The Maze Runner

           I am reading The Maze Runner by James Dashner. This book's genre is post-apocalyptic. This book is about a teen named Thomas who came to this mysterious place called the Glades. He does not know where and why he is there. Thomas does not also know anything about his life anymore; he is completely clueless. Now that Thomas has been at the Glades for a while, he now knows there is a large maze with bad things inside. Thomas is not allowed to go inside the maze. However, Thomas said he wants to participate in being a runner.            The character Thomas reminds me of one of my friends because she is very outgoing. Therefore, Thomas is outgoing because he wants to be a runner in the maze.  Thomas also reminds me of myself because I am always very cautious of my actions in various situations.
