The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers----Text to world--------
The book I am reading is the The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers written by J.R.R. Tolkien. There was a fellowship in the first book but two people have now died and two other hobbits were captured by a tribe of orcs who are on there way to Isengard. The two hobbits Merry and Pippin escaped in the night and there only way to safety is through the worst forest ever the Fangorn Forest. In their they meant an Ent. An Ent is a walking old tree who are the wisest creature ever in Middle-Earth.The fellowship was suppose to stay together to destroy the ring but Frodo didn't want anyone else to get hurt or die. So Frodo sets off by himself but Samwise Gamgee who is his best friend so he convinced Frodo to let him go with him. So the 2 hobbits are now off to destroy the ring but will be encountered by a mysterious creature known as Gollum. The other men of the fellowship is a elf, a dwarf, and a ranger but they now are all by themselves tracking down Pippin and Merry. But during the hunt they get friendly captured by the people of Rohan and the king is being controlled by a evil man named Wormtongue. But they have almost no clue on how to get there so they seek the help of an unlikely ally. On the way to Mordor Gollum tricked Frodo and Samwise into a cave because he made them think that that way is the safest and the fastest way to Mordor. Over in Rohan a member of the fellowship that was resumed dead is somehow been seen again. That man is now helping the other part of the fellowship.
My text to world connection is that Gollum betrayed Frodo and Samwise and eventually fought them just like how the South betrayed the North and which caused the Civil War. Gollum betrays Frodo and Sam by tricking them into a deadly cave filled with a Giant spider known as Shelob who is very hungry for meat. And the South betrays the North by leaving the Union and fights back just like Gollum who eventually fights back.
I was surprised that Samwise Gamgee believed that Gollum was telling the truth. I would have not believed him. Gollum is a corrupted, lying, tricky little creature who looks very, very sketchy.
