Text to World - Wonder

Wonder, by R.J. Palacio, is a story about a fifth grader named August. August (a.k.a. Auggie) has a face deformity that makes him look out of the ordinary. His parents decide to enroll Auggie into a private school because they feel that he needs to learn more than what his mom can teach him. At school, Auggie makes friends, but he also makes enemies. Auggie also teaches people to not judge what they can't see.
In the story, the main character has a face deformity and a lot of kids in the current world today have face deformities or any other genetic mutations. Makayla Hainline has Treacher Collins syndrome just like Auggie. Makayla is like any other kid, but a lot of people don't see that. This may not be a world issue, but I think misjudgment kind of affects a lot of people in a way because people decide that they don't want to see what's on the inside, but what's on the outside.
While reading Wonder, I started thinking about Stephen Hawking, even though they aren't really the same. I started thinking about Stephen Hawking because I'm pretty sure he might've gone threw situations like Auggie. Going to school, having to deal with kids, and then showing the kids he's similar to them. I'm also proud of how Auggie handled things at school. He was very mature about handling certain situations that happened at school.
