text to world, Small as an elephant.

The book I am reading is, Small as an elephant, by Jennifer Richard Jacobson. This book is kinda like a mystery. Jack has to try and find his mother before the time is up, and he takes a small plastic elephant with him. I think that's where they get the idea of the title from. He is also trying to take care of himself while finding his mom. So what will he do, will he find her before the time is up?

Jack is wasting daylight time to try and find his mother. "His idea was to make the best use of daylight hours." "He thought of it when he woke up extra early one morning." This relates because, Jack had many ideas of where he wanted to go to search for his mother in the amount of time he had. The other one also relates because he would sometimes wake up extra early to try and find his mother.  But Jack didn't want to tell anyone just like people don't like to change their clocks one hour ahead in the winter time.  https://newsela.com/read/lib-daylight-savings-time/id/27801

I don't get why Jack doesn't tell anyone before it's to later! I also love the way the book gives so much detail to what they are talking about. The character I like the most is Jack, this is because he has a personality that know body can connect with. He keeps people distant but also lets them in. He is a very good character in this book. If I put my shoes in the charters shoes, by now I would have told someone before it was to late, I know that he doesn't want to lose his mom so that's why he isn't telling anyone.
