Unwind: Neal Shusterman
I am reading the book Unwind by Neal Shusterman. This is the first book of the series. This is about these people who are giving up their lives even if they don't want to. They are called Unwinds. They are also known as tithes. They are chosen by there family to do this. They are the chosen ones. Before they are born their parents must decide if they are going to be a Unwound or not. In this book a boy named Conner is chosen to be the unwound in his family. He thinks that it is a blessing but he doesn't know what's coming.
This books sort of reminds me of the book "The Maze Runner." It reminds me of that specific book because they don't choose if they are going to be a unwound or a maze runner it is chosen for them. When they are little they live their life then when they get to the right age they are taken away and their new life lies ahead of them weather they live or not. Risa is a lot like Teresa from "The Maze Runner" because both of them in their stories are surrounded by boys and can get annoyed with them at some points when they mess up a plan or something like that. If you have ever read that book and then you read this book you will see the connection between both books and their similarities.
I love the twists and unexpected things that happen in this book because it makes it really interesting and makes you want to read it more. I think that Conner is making it through. I don't know how I would handle a situation like that. Sometimes, it seems like Risa likes Didi but at the same time she makes it seem like she wants to get rid of the baby. That's one of the things I think makes the book so good. How the characters are dealing with things and also how their emotions change it just brings the story to life. I think that it is realistic how your feeling can change and I don't think that the story would be as good if they had the same emotions throughout the whole book. I think that you should read this book and that it is an amazing book with an amazing story.
