Text to Text- Serendipity & Me

     I am reading a book called Serendipity & Me by Judith L. Roth and it is about a girl named Sara and her hard times that come to a good ending. Sara's mother died when she was young so it is just her and her dad. Sara has always wanted a cat but her father always says no without any reasoning. When Sara gets sick, she can't act in her school play making her miserable. One night, she hears scratching at her door so she opens it making a little white kitten pounce in. She only has a week before her kitten has to go so she needs to convince her dad and make plans to keep it. She names the cat Serendipity right away. Sara eventually uncovers her family secrets and gets to keep Serendipity.
 
       The main character, Sara reminds me of  Nikki from the book series: Dork diaries. There isn't a lot of connections between these characters and books but there is one. Sara and Nikki both have hard time in middle school that sometimes lead them to sadness at times.
       
     This book is really realistic and I felt like this could happen to someone in real life. I really enjoyed this book and I could read it over and over again without getting bored.
