Text to Text- The Maze Runner

          I am reading The Maze Runner by James Dashner.  This story is about a boy named Thomas who was brainwashed and taken to a place called the Glades. Thomas was very curious on running in the maze inside the Glades. When he had the chance, Thomas went into the maze and became a runner. Thomas is starting to put together clues and messages he has found to why he went to the glades in the first place. He is now trying to decode a message that has been created, so he can stop the danger. Thomas and the other runners need to defeat the grievers, and what is happening to their world.
          The scene where the ferocious creatures (grievers) come and are trying to break their way into the map room, reminds me of the book The Hunger Games. That specific scene reminds me of The Hunger Games because when the other creatures (mutts) come out from the forest, the characters were prepared as well, but struggled to defeat the deadly animals. The character Alby in The Maze Runner  is like one of the mom in the movie The Impossible  because they were both critically injured. After the tsunami in The Impossible, the mother of the family was in worse shape with many injuries. Then, in The Maze Runner Alby had an incredibly large gash on his forehead.
           This made me think that most natural disasters can relate to this man made invasion of deadly creatures. It seems like various post- apocalyptic books could be possibilities of destruction made by humans in the future. Also, If I were Minho, at this point I would try to do something for Alby instead of just leaving him on the floor. Although, I was not surprised that something bad happened to one the runners. Since all of the grievers were loose, I would have been shocked if no one got hurt.
