Text to Self - The Accused
I'm reading the book The Accused by John Grisham. This book falls into the mystery genre. A man named Pete Duffy was accused of murdering his wife. Murder is not that common in the town Strattenburg. Theodore Boone who goes by Theo is a teenage boy who is very interested in the alleged murder. His parents are both lawyers and own their own business "Boone&Boone". The day of the first trial Pete Duffy was absent , he was nowhere to be seen. All of his cars were there and nothing out of place. Meanwhile there was a search team out for Pete Duffy. Days past and Theo was doing his normal routine. Theo was in school and a random person struck their knife in Theo's bike tire. The day after that his school locker was robbed in to, someone threw a rock and glass shattered at Boone&Boone then, someone stole three $300 tablets and put them in Theo's locker. Theo is now accused of theft for something he didn't do. Detectives find it easy that Theo is 100% guilty. Now at school he is getting teased for being accused for a crime. Soon then a fight comes up and Theo was in it. He knew he was going to be in big trouble, no way problems would ever end for him they are just going to get worse and worse. Theo is under pressure and trying to find his hope. It will be hard for him for people to believe his innocence.
Theo reminds me of someone I know because I a few years back my friend got in trouble for something she didn't even do her parents later found out it wasn't her, the sad thing was her parents didn't believe her the first time. Another connection I made was from a book Theo is like Allegra in the book "Falsely Accused" because they are both trying to find innocence. Allegra and Theo go through barriers along the way. Both of the characters are the same age so most likely they see things the same way just like from a teenagers point of view.
I like the way the author has a different and even more interesting event in each chapter. The book is addicting thus mysterious. The conflict is what this whole entire book is about. The problem of the story just gets worse and worse. I also like how my author scopes out the setting before the characters actually interact with each other, it creates a vivid thought inside my head.
