Sea of Monsters

I am reading The Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan . This book is about Percy, Annabeth, and Tyson. Percy and Tyson are the son's of Poseidon (the god of the sea). Annabeth is their friend and the daughter of Athena. They are trying to save camp Half-blood. This is a summer camp for demi-gods. They are also trying to save their friend Grover. Thalia's tree is the barrier which keeps the monsters out of the camp. Thalia's tree is dying because it has been poisoned. The golden fleece can cure the tree and the barrier. To retrieve the  the fleece, they have to travel through the sea of Monsters. Mortals call this the Bermuda Triangle.
This book reminds me of Hatchet. It reminds me of Hatchet because the two main characters, Percy and Brian Robeson, are around the same age. They are also away from their parents during the summer months. It's obvious that they both go on an adventure. The setting is similar  because of the season and they are in the forest. The two characters both use tools to accomplish what they are trying to solve. Percy and Brian are both cool under pressure. Brian is cool when he is being attacked by and animal. Percy is cool when he is being attacked by Luke(the person who tried to kill Percy in the book before this one.) and the monsters.
I love how when you are reading the book, It just hooks you in. it makes you pay attention and not daydream while reading. The author doesn't come up with random details that never is used again. An example of that is Annabeth's mother is Athena, she invented chariots. Percy's dad is Poseidon, who invented horses. This all has to do with the chariot race at the camp. Tantalus is very hated character because of his actions towards Percy. There are so many other ways that the plot line could have changed like if Thalia's tree wasn't poisoned. If I was Percy, I probably would have done something about Tantalus like framing him or telling Zeus
